Today I had the chance to get out to a park!
Falls Park, Greenville, SC
I absolutely love, love a change of scenery from my usual neighborhood walk. It feels so refreshing 🙂 I enjoyed taking a stroll by the river and taking it all in. Beautifully landscaped walkways with gorgeous flowers, plants, rocks, and waterfalls.
The park was bustling with other photographers, casual walkers, Mom’s with kids feeding ducks and cyclists. Notice I took pics not of that, but the quiet moments around me instead. I found a comfortable spot on a gigantor rock directly in front of this water fall to sit and read my new book.
On my way to the car I spotted this red orange beauty! My favorite color 🙂 well almost…teal is super close to my fav color too. I used my iphone 5c 8mp to take these pics and edited with my Pixlromatic ap. Absolutely love this ap! So many, many filters and frames to choose from.
My little boy gave me this for my present today! This leaf is my 3rd leaf present from him. He exclaimed excitedly, “This is a girl leaf”! He thinks the coloring looks more pinky. Too cute! I do love the coloring and how the green is seeping into the rust orange.
Today I took the boys (10 & 6) outside for them to discover their creativity through photography. They are entering a photo contest at school. The pic to the left is my 5th grader’s photo, “Entrance to the Garden” and the tree below is “The Bearded Tree” by my K5 kiddo.
Honestly, I did not expect the 6 yr old to be that interested. However, boy was I wrong! He snapped his camera every step of his walk outside. He kept saying, “I just love everything”! He took pics of grass, leaves, statue, bushes, trees, brick walkway, his feet, people walking and biking, me, our water bottles, his brother (much to his no picture mood), ducks, a dog, the lake, lamp post, flags, and yes even a trash can. 🙂 He took a whopping total of 163 pics!!!
I think we can all learn a thing or two from his statement that he loves everything. Let’s decide to love a little more!
Abruptly his picture taking came to a stop when he took a step back on the walking path to trip over this boys leg…down he went and scraped his knee. The boy was nice enough to make sure he was ok and apologized. Slightly scraped, that was all. He piggybacked to the closest restroom and we cleaned him up. 🙂
At first I thought all my blog posts would all be about my physical walk outside, but today I want to share a super special moment with I had with my 6 yr old littlest. He is my sweetest, bright little ray of sunshine in my life today!
During his bedtime ritual the topic of dreams came up. He said, “I never dream at all at night”. I asked, “What about good dreams”? He responded, “Not good ones or bad ones, but I have daydreams instead”, exclaiming very excitedly with a huge grin! “What sort of daydream happened today”? I prodded further. He said, “it was a happy daydream and he was playing on a MAGIC playground.” When he said the word magic he whispered and waved his hand dramatically across his face. This magical playground comes to life around him in the dream and one also informed me that if you make a wish on this magical playground your wish comes true!
This was my magically Mommy moment 🙂 Very much enjoyed laughing, giggling, and connecting with my littlest this evening. I always love hearing about cute things kids say or do, and always have been fascinated with dreams too!

This morning I enjoyed sitting in my favorite chair next to the open window with the sunlight streaming in. As I wrote, read, and reflected I came to an important realization. So many times I allow a physical affliction to just ruin my entire day…
Many days like today it is as simple as a headache. Ugh I woke up with a headache = bad day. NO. Today I’m choosing to yes take Tylenol to treat the headache, but not let it sour my spirit! I also reach out to God daily to ask for guidance and help. The scriptures written in my journal and typed on this page have helped me to feed my spirit with truth to keep it lifted up and souring! I’m giving God the credit for helping me to overcome my “destined” bad day. I know easier said than done, and this is why I’m blogging: To remind myself.
Letting the sun shine on me And within me.
